Using Fancy Foils on Gourds

This is where  "patience and practice"  is important. Add a drop of blending solution in the center of your ink drop. Let it bloom. 

You can spread the ink by using a hand held ink blower.

Add one drop of another color and blending solution and gently move the color with the ink blower. 

Concentrate on one small area. If a spot is too dark or concentrated, add a drop of blending solution or another color and blow to separate the dark spot. 

 Darker concentrated areas will take longer to dry. When the dark areas are slightly sticky you can rub in foils to add a bit of spark.

The foil’s “color” side must face up.

I use a serving spoon to burnish the foil.
